Essay

Dissertation is devoted to functional potential of allusive proper names in advertising texts. An attempt to explore allusive proper names on material of the English, Russian and Ukrainian advertising and to show their differences and identity is first done in the research. The problems of the proper names research and their functioning are formulated in English, Ukrainian and Russian advertising texts. The possible ways of researches are disclosed in the aspect of communicative-pragmatic, structural and textual, semantic and onomasiological tasks of advertising. The analysis of the collected material showed that in most cases between the typical feature, that is peculiar to any allusive proper name and the most typical feature of advertised product there is a certain connection.
