The thesis to claim the academic degree of candidate of geographical sciences on the speciality 11.00.08 - oceanology. - Marine Hydrophysical Institute of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Sevastopol, 2008.The thesis is devoted to detection of regional peculiarities of the hydrological fields of the Red Sea on the basis of statistically provided climatic data of the temperature and salinity. The scheme of geostrophic circulation of water for warm and cold seasons of the year was made for the first time. The main types of synoptic mesoscale variability of hydrological fields of the Red Sea were revealed. Synoptic variability is represented by shelf waves, mesoscale variability is represented by inertial oscillations, inherent and induced tides, free seiches and inner long-wave motions.According to the data of instrumental observations and numerical experiments based on hydrodynamic models spatio-temporal parameters of wave motions were received, energy characteristics in terms of accessible potential energy of synoptic variability and kinetic energy of mesoscale variability are calculated. The main results find their application in hydrotechnical project examination within sea shore, interpretation of water hydrological regime received from space pictures.
