Essay

The object is exohedral metallofullerenes with iron and nickel atoms. The goal of the work is the development of new methods of synthesis of exohedral metallofullerenes with transitional metals atoms (Fe, Ni) by interaction of fullerene C60 with ferrocene, iron and nickel galogenides, metallic iron and nickel, metallofullerenes spatial structure ascertain, and study oh their properties. Methods of the research are synthetic, X-ray diffraction analysis, elemental analysis, X-ray fluorescence, atomic absorption spectroscopy, Mossbauer spectroscopy, IR-spectroscopy, thermogravimetry, magnetometry. Ferrocenyl-substituted fullerene, which represent new type of metal-carbon cage, and exohedral metallofullerenes with iron and nickel atoms, and iron-nickel-containing heterobimetallic metallofullerenes have been prepared. Iron and nickel atoms are form pi-complexes with pentagonal faces of C60. Magnetization dependences from temperatures and magnetic-field strength have been investigate for series of Fe-Ni-metallofullerenes; magnetic moments dependence from metallofullerenes composition has been determine. The area of application is the preparation of new complexes of fullerene with transition metals; new magnetic materials obtaining.
