Lazurko L. Lazurko L.M. The "Historic Quartery"and the Development of Polish Historiography of the nineteenth - the first half of the twentieth ctntury

The dissertation deals with the study of the "Historic Quarterly"functioning and the analysisof its existence. The circumstances of its formation, peculiarities of its development and functioning asa periodical are presented in chronoligical order. Within the dissertation thesis the peculiarities of political, socialand economic, juridical, cultural and educational problems ofthe past in the Polish Lands from earlyhistoric timesto the beginning of the twentieth century as reflected in the journal have been studied. Due to the analysis of the material published in the "Historic Quarterly", its influence on the process of Polish historic research modernization of the period marced has been defined as well as the contribution of these materialsto the studyof the Ucrainian history. The main tradition of Lithuanian studies along with Polish-German relations as reflected in the journal have been analyzed as well. The contribution of the "Historic Quarterly" into the development of Polish historiogphy of thelast quarterof the nineteenth - the first halfof the twentieth century has been defined.
