Object: suspended substance of the sea water, farmed mussels Mytilus galloprovincialis, mussel biodeposits. The purpose: to calculate elements of the balance of carotenoids, a - tocopherol and heavy metals (Cd, Pb, Cu, Zn) in the «suspended substance – mussel – biodeposits» system in mussel farm area. The investigation concentrated on the season-depended uptake, accumulation, transrormation and excretion of carotenoids and a-tocopherol (BAS) and heavy metals in Black Sea mussels, Mytilus galloprovincialis, farmed in the Sevastopol region. The tissue-specific of accumulation ВAS at molluscs depending on a mussel stage of a reproductive cycle and a sex, and also a forage phytoplankton is defined. The tissue-specific of metal content is not revealed, the concentrations measured in biodeposits were greater than in soft tissues of the mussels. It is shown that the major porcion BAS (more than 90 %) is used for metabolism. It is established that kinetics an metal exchange (consume with food) at the Black Sea mussels can be evaluated from concentrations of the elements in biodeposites and soft tissue of mussels. The role of the farmed mussels plays in heavy metal removal from the suspended substance and excretion as biodeposits was assessed.
