Essay

The subject of the investigation is ageing of insulation of high-voltage pulsed capacitors in strong electric fields; the goal of investigation is development of method and practical recommendations on choice of rational design of high-voltage pulsed capacitors with series connection of section groups taking into account discrepancy between capacitance values of these sections; methods of investigation – electric circuit theory methods, the graph analytical, least-squares, structural reliability and probability theory, mathematical simulation, design of experiment and statistical processing of results; theoretical and practical results – method for comparative analysis of resource of capacitor designs with series connection of section groups taking into account discrepancy between capacitance values of these sections which allows to increase reliability or to make cheaper new created designs, or the first and the second together, has been proposed; over voltage coefficients on section groups connectedin series were calculated and main variants of dangerous distribution of electric field strength were determined; novelty – taking into account discrepancy between capacitance values of series connected section groups and reliability indices, it was shown that increasing of resource of high-voltage pulsed capacitors allows to achieve decrease in the number of series connections when dielectric thickness between capacitor plates increases, the most expedient (for increasing of resource) dielectric thickness 80-160 micrometers was proposed; level of realization – method of choice of rational design of high-voltage pulsed capacitors with series connection of sections was used in creation of new types of capacitors in RDI “Molniya” of NTU “KPI”: KIM-120, KIM-125, KIM-131, KIM-136 which have an increased resource, were introduced and are successfully used in research organizations, in Ukrainian enterprises; area of application – designing and making of new designs of high-voltage pulsed capacitors on voltage morethan 15 kV in “Molniya”, Kharkov city and PPTI of NAS of Ukraine, Nikolaev city, and also in modernization of outdated capacitors with lower specific energy and resource.
