Vlasova O. The problem of gender equality in the Western European philosophy (historical and philosophical analysis).

The object is the historical and philosophical context of the formation of the gender equality idea in the Western European philosophy. The objective is the philosophic analysis of the gender-equality problem in the Western European philosophy. The methods are historical-comparative; the means belong to phenomenological, socio-constructive and poststructural philosophic approaches. The main idea of the dissertation is to research into the historical and philosophical reflection of the gender-equality idea in the Western culture, to implement the complex analysis of the essence and the historical prospects of the gender equality in the Western European philosophy. The research into the development of the gender equality idea presented in the reasoning and conceptions of the representatives of the classical, non-classical and post-classical philosophy makes it possible to maintain that the gender inequality is the result of the social constructing and allows to follow how sex becomes an ideological product. The contemporary philosophy has developed a gender strategy the main idea of which is to implement the gender equality in all the strata of the contemporary life. The sphere is studying process.
