Object of the study: hepatobiliary system in patients with diabetes millettus (DM). Aim of the study: study and evaluate the influence of high dispersive silica (HDS) on the clinical, functional, morphological signs of hepatobiliary disorders in patients with DM. Methods and equipment: clinical, biochemical, instrumental and statistical methods; ultrasound devices «Aloka 1700», liquid chromatograph «Bio-Rad», рhotometrical apparatus «Stat Fax 1904 plus». Theoretical and practical results: it was proved scientifically that echodensitometry is a high sensitive and specific method for the diagnosis of hepatic steatosis in patients with DM. On the grounds of the results presented in the research which confirm the clinical effect of HDS on the course of DM, offer the scheme of HDS’application in patients with diabetic steatosis. Using echodensitometry of the liver as screening test allow to detect the early stages of nonalcoholic fatty livere disease and to do impartial assessment of sonographic changes during the course of treatment. Novelty: for the first time it was defined the rule of echodensitometry in the diagnosis and assessment of the severity of hepatic steatosis in patients with DM.Degree of introduction: results may be used as guidelines for edocrinologists to render medical care for diabetic patients with hepatic steatosis and in the educational process as a course of lectures for students in medical educational institutions. Field of application: endocrinology.
