Essay

This work is devoted to the problems of forecasting the tyres life of re-rubber wheels considering the elasticity forces which appear under the deformation of rubber shock-absobers. Besides such problems as the analysis of these forces influence and energy losses in the materials under the deformation of an elastic part (element) which influences the tyres wear of re-rubber wheels depending on different types of rubber are discussed in this paper. It is estimated that the known techniques of tyres wear calculation are used for rigid wheels and the damping possibilities of rubber shock-absorbers of re-rubbered wheel-pairs are not taken into account. However, after defined, specific run the error between the tyres thickness of re-rubbered wheels, which has been received by experimentally and theoretically using the known technique for rigid wheels, is more than 10% and the error is increasing with the run and it is 15% and more depending on the rubber type and run. The technique to forecast the tyres life (resource) of re-rubber wheel pairs of rail-way transport which considers the damping possibilities of shock-absorbers has been developed. Calculated relationships to determine elastic forces, facing ridge and thickness of tyres of re-rubbered wheel pairs are given.
