Essay

The all-round analysis of sources of the history of mu-seum-keeping in Lugansk Region (1835 - 2007) and the funds of Lugansk Regional Museum of Local Lore have been carried out for the first time in the thesis. Historiogra-phy of the research problem has been examined, the corre-sponding division into periods of the history of the mu-seum-keeping of Lugansk region has been developed, the peculiarities of various groups of sources forming have been defined. The following separate groups have been pointed out: funds, the documents of the leading institutions, the official papers of the museums, the mass media and scien-tific literature materials and private sources.
