Research object - patients with diabetes mellitus type 2 with diabetic nephropathy; purpose - resolving both of the diagnostic problems of left ventricular structure and func-tion abnormalities in diabetes mellitus type 2 with diabetic nephropathy and its prognostic significance in follow-up cor-rection in long-term treatment with enalapril, losartan and diltiazem-retard; methods - clinical, biochemical, radioim-munal, instrumental, statistical; novelty - for the fist time prevalence of concentric left ventricular hypertrophy versus its excentric variant was declared, including left ventricular systolic myocardial stress was significantly elevated in patients with concentric hypertrophy; risk factors of the development of left ventricular hypertrophy in diabetes mellitus type 2 patients with diabetic nephropathy were revealed; long-term therapy with enalapril, losartan and diltiazem was closely associated with improvement of left ventricle geometry and diastolic function, and decrease of microalbuminuria and proteinuria comparatively; it was introduced in work of the Donetsk regional clinical territorial medical union, central city clinical hospital № 1, № 3 (Donetsk), "Institute of Nephrology" (Kiev), Regional hospital named after І.І.Mechnikov (Dnepropetrovsk), re-gional clinical hospital Lugansk and Kharkov; field of use - tretment and diagnostic processes of therapeuric and nephrology departments, pedagogical process of therapeutic chair of medical educational establishments.
