Object of the study - novels of M. Joyce, S. Mouthrop, S. Jackson and M. D. Coverly. Goal of the study - the analysis of hypernovels as literary phenomenon. The methods of research - receptive, narrative approaches, elements of structuralist and deconstructive analysis, approaches of cultural studies. The dissertation is the first integrated research of poetic and structural peculiarities, as well as interactive possibilities of hypernovel, in Ukrainian literary studies. Literary sources and traditions which influenced hypernovel were studied in this thesis, as well as hypernovel's structural and thematic organization, and interactive possibilities of the reader. Special attention in this research was paid to the development of hypercriticism and the features which it shares with hypertext literature were described: openness, metatextuality, denial of existence of canonical original text, dynamics. Application sphere - teaching.
