The dissertation is devoted to tendencies, trends and historiographic objective laws governing the study of Greek communities in Ukraine in the 19th century – the early 21st century. The historical stages of the problem study have been determined. The features of the approaches to the history of Nizhyn and Mariupol’ Greeks in the 19th – the early 21st centuries have been found out as well as the place of this problem in the historical works and its subordination to wider subject contexts.
