The thesis is dedicated to establishing didactic fundamentals of the use of interactive teaching methods in teaching English and Ukrainian to elementary students. A classification of interactive methods was developed using the criteria of quantity, character of tasks, methodic objective and lesson phase, which opened up opportunities for the increase of effectiveness of forming language communicative competence with elementary students.
