Surzhynskyi M. Citizenship of Ukraine as legal institute of Constitutional Law

The thesis is devoted to the complex investigation of the citizenship of Ukraine as legal institute of Constitutional Law being dedicated to further development of theoretical and practical problems of the citizenship of Ukraine. A concept of citizenship has been researched; the characteristic of essence, contents and form of citizenship has been described. The classification of Constitutional Law of Ukraine legal principles has been carried out with special formation and development features of legal institute of Constitutional Law of Ukraine being underlined. Theoretical and practical problems of plural citizenship and citizenship of European Union have been analyzed. The complex analysis of the legislation on citizenship of Ukraine has been worked out while the role and meaning of international law standards in the field of citizenship with respect to national legislation have been determined. The following structural elements of the institute of citizenship of Ukraine are researched: citizenship possession; acquiring citizenship and its termination. Conclusions as for legislation on the citizenship of Ukraine in-force improvement are proposed and grounded.
