Essay

In this study the innovative definition of the internal monologue has been formulated, the interdisciplinary view of researched narrative form has been proposed; hence the internal monologue has been analyzed as a complex multi-vector communicational model. On the base of the analysis of heterogeneous artworks peculiarities of the internal monologues functioning in the works of epic end dramatic genres of different literary styles have been traced, the problem of realization of this narrative form in lyric texts has been actualized, the list of main and supplementary functions of the internal monologue has been expanded, the innovative classification of internal monologues has been undertaken.
