Essay

The dynamics of optical singularities in the non-stationary random light fields is investigated for the first time. Such fields appear as a result of photoinduced scattering in the photorefractive crystal LiNbO3:Fe. They are studied by both original simultaneous phase reconstruction method and Stokes polarimetry technique. It is shown that the process of creation/annihilation of phase singularities is accompanied by forming of phase inhomogeneity (a high phase gradient magnitude zone). Maximum of ellipticity and inhomogenity of azimuth (a high azimuth gradient magnitude zone) emerge during creation and annihilation of circular polarized points (C-points). Transformation scenarios of distribution of azimuth as well as major and minor semi-axes of polarizing ellipse around C-points (created or annihilated) are experimentally investigated.
