Zhytska L. History of Russia in the scientific and pedagogical works of V. Ikonnikov.

The thesis is devoted to the complex investigation of the pedagogical and scientific work about the Russian history made by V. Ikonnikov, the professor of the University by St. Volodymyr. On the basis of the analysis of the scientific works and the wide variety of sources there were analyzed the works, courses and programs of the scholar's lectures devoted to the history of the Russian state from the ancient times to the 18th century. Special attention was paid to the unpublished works of the historian about Petro the First, Kateryna the Second, the biographies of the public and state figures of the 16-18th centuries. There was traced the teaching of the Russian history to the scientists in Kharkiv, Odesa, Kyiv. There was made the source analysis of courses and programs of the historian. In the thesis there was demonstrated that the activity of Ikonnikov in the scientific and teaching branch resulted in the accumulation of the extensive works on Russian history which the scholar wrote primarily using means of personification. All the works of the scholar make up the complete history of Russia from the ancient times to the 18th century and are distinguished by the rich bibliographic material.
