Essay

The thesis is devoted to the solution of the scientific task to define the antivascular and antiangiogenic properties of the antitumor effect of phytopreparation GA-40 on the basis of the investigation of the status of microvascularity of the primary tumors and metastatic nodes in three models of tumor growth: Guerin carcinoma, Lewis lung carcinoma and melanoma B16. The application of phytopreparation GA-40 inhibits the development in Guerin carcinoma the microvascularity that is testified by the decrease of specific weight of tumor microvessels and average area of vessels at 28th day of the experiment in comparison with the control group. It has been found out that phytopreparation GA-40 shows inhibitory influence on neovascularization and metastizing in animals with Lewis lung carcinoma and melanoma B16 and leads to the simultaneous reliable decrease of the level VEGF in the blood serum and the increase of the quantity of avascular metastases. On the bases of the obtained results the new direction ofthe pharmacological effect of this phytopreparation - the suppression of angiogenesis with the inhibition of the tumor growth - has been defined.
