Balya G. Orthopedic Rehabilitation of Patients with Generalized Form of Pathological Abrasion of Hard Tissues of Teeth.

Thesis is devoted to the problems of diagnostics and orthopedic treatment of patients with generalized form of pathological abrasion of hard tissues of teeth and elaboration of new approaches for a choice of construction of denture according to pathological process intensity. The spreading of pathology among the population of Poltava region, which exceeds slightly the average index in Ukraine, has been estimated. The author has estimated the variety of forms of pathological abrasion of teeth, which are absent in current classifications but have significant meaning for making plan of orthopedic treatment. On the basis of electromyographic investigations the degree of functional disturbances in masticatory apparatus involving mentioned abnormalities has been defined. The methods of orthopedic treatment with the aid of covering dentures according to the type of complete removable dentures with additional elements of fixation have been created. Cosmetic and functional effectiveness of proposed constructions, which is verified by subjective and objective data, has been determined.
