The topic of the thesis is one of the most important areas of paediatrics - advance in the diagnosis of primary arterial hypertension (AH) in children, including the disease detection at the earlier (pre-clinical) stage and improving analysis of its natural history and prognosis.Clinical features and risk factors for the development of AH have been established in children with primary arterial hypertension and children with normal arterial blood pressure but with high readings within normal range. The data based on the analysis of 24 hour аrterial рressure (AP) observation profile revealed 29.4% incidence of "white coat hypertension", 36.6% - labile hypertension and 34.1% - stable AH. It has been proven that children with primary arterial hypertension and those with the high range normal AP (HRNAP) display changes in autonomic system homeostasis with absolute or relative dominating of sympathetic interference; endothelial dysfunction (an increase in the concentration of end products of Nitric Oxide metabolism in plasma of children with HRNAP and labile AH and reduced amount of these products in children with stable AH) has been detected. Linear discriminant equations have been compiled to aid prognosis of stabilisation of primary arterial hypertension in children; software has also been designed. Diagnostic algorithm for the classification of different forms of AH has been created based on 24 hour AP parameters. Іs introduced - into medical practice, in educational process; area - medicine.
