The thesis is devoted to the issues of the criminal liability for illegal acquisition of a vehicle. The author analyses the characteristics of the corpus delicti stipulated in art. 289 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (the object and the objective side, the subjective side and the subject). Aggravating circumstances, clearing of the criminal liability for illegal acquisition of a vehicle and punishment for them are considered. The author shows the features that allow to distinguish this crime from other related ones and suggests new wording for art. 289 of the Criminal Code.
