Essay

The dissertation reveals the philosophical backgrounds of the Polish romantic orientation of the early 18th and the beginning of the 19th centuries. Theoretical, cultural and historic conditions of the Polish philosophical thought of the romanticism period formation and development have been thrown light upon. The determining of the principal peculiarities of the Polish romanticism philosophy is of supreme concern. The importance of the outstanding contribution of the poets and prophets A.Mitskevych and Y. Slovatsky in the philosophical thought of Poland has been underlined. In the dissertation understanding by the Polish romanticists of the problems of freedom has been revealed. The essence of the historical method principle in the context of their philosophizing has been defined. The specific features of their conception of an outstanding personality, his or her place and role in history have been characterized. Due to the comparative method the common and distinctive features of the European and Polish romantic tradition of philosophizing have been revealed.
