Essay

The thesis presents the results of researches of means and methods of primary and secondary protection of steelstructures for facilities exposed to various level corrosion risk. The estimated characteristics of corrosion condition are justifiedbased on the limiting state method for making up specification of corrosion resistance, durability and maintainability indices inthe course of steel structure manufacture. The procedure for corroborating the conformity of steel structure service life to thespecified parameters of corrosion protection reliability indices is developed. Efficiency of corrosion protection measures at thestage of design and engineering preproduction is offered to be estimated with use of mathematical model of steel structureavailability factor. The accelerated and environmental corrosion tests are carried out, calculation models of monitoring ofin-use parameters are offered, characteristics of steel structure availability factors are determined for the examined types ofprotective coating systems. Classification of levels of steel structure corrosion risk is developed depending on degree ofenvironment corrosiveness and specified values of steel structure availability factor. Technical and economic indices of steelstructure corrosion protection reliability are presented taking into account the level of building facilities corrosion risk.
