The thesis is devoted to the problems of the legal regulation of rendering medical service to the population of Ukraine. In the present study the place of institute of medical service in the social security right is determined. The author carried out the theoretical analysis of categories "medical service", "high-quality medical care", "legal relationships from medical service" etc, and investigated types of medical care to the population of Ukraine.
