Zapototskyy A. Documents as legal sources of evidence in criminal proceedings

This thesis is an investigation, where urgent legal, theoretical and practical problems in using of documentation as legal sources of criminal proceedings have been studied at the monographic level. In this work a history of development and formation of a conception of "document" in criminal proceedings is considering. Characteristic of documents as legal sources of evidence as well as their difference from material evidences and investigation and legal proceedings are investigated. The author classification of documents is given. Methods and special features of collecting and examination of documents as well as the assessment of documents as legal sources of evidence are analysed. The legislative regulation of use of documents as evidence sources during the proving process is summarized; possible ways of improving the investigation and legal practice and improvements of current legislation are pointed out.
