This dissertation focuses on prosodic peculiarities of utterances expressing positive emotions viewed from a cognitive perspective and analyzed through social and cultural communication contexts. The paper determines a theoretical basis of the cognitive approach in present-day phonetics, improves the methodology of perceptional analysis aimed at defining emotional concepts’ prosodic realization in English.
