Essay

The thesis is devoted to studies of effect of physical and chemical properties of porous silicon surface on desorption/ionization of small organic molecules by DIOS method. Ion formation pathways were clarified for redox-active and ionogenic substances. It was found out that pathways depended upon different availability of proton- and electron-donor surface sites which, in turn, was dermined by chemical composition of the porous silicon surface layer. Besides, DIOS perfomance of porous silicon with ion-bound organic molecules was studied from point of view of desorption/ionization mechanisms.
