Akimov M. Criminal law characteristic of taking hostages according to Ukrainian legislation.

Dissertation is the first complex monograph research in Ukraine concerning on problems of criminal law characteristic of taking hostages. The analysis of origin and historical development of taking hostages and responsibility for it in international law and criminal law of Ukraine has been done. There are the considerations of this norm in a Special Part of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, objective and subjective elements of this crime, qualified circumstances and demarcation with the similar crimes in it. Suggestions for advancing of present criminal legislation (especially in part of forcing, matching an addressees of demand, etc.) has been made. The new version of the part of Criminal Code of Ukraine about responsibility for taking hostages are based and formulated.
