Essay

Interaction of thin modulated electron beam with homogeneous and inhomogeneous plasmas was studied by numerical experiments using big particles' method in 2D planar geometry. Stages of electron and ion nonlinearities were studied. These stages are characterized by the excitation of HF electric field in the local plasma resonance region (LPRR), the formation of ambipolar electric field and the deformation of initial plasma profile.
