Essay

The complex collection of nobility's testaments which were put down in the record books of L'viv and Peremyshl' castle courts in the first half of the XVIIIth century has been examined in the dissertation. Following the analysis of archival materials, published sources, and historiography there have been established ways and reasons for the spreading of testaments in Ukrainian lands; has been explored the genesis of nobility's testaments, their legal nature as documents of private law and the legal basis of functioning; has been reconstructed the general scheme of testaments' inner structure and described the development of their forms and main reasons for using in the process of inheritance.
