Essay

Fo the first in the musicology all accessible transcriptions and original composer's work for the church-singing use were successively analyzed. On the base of S. Smolensky-medievist's research works the scientific conception of native church music art was created and generalized. As a result of examining documental and science sources key descriptions of mastery and educational activities of scientist-musician were revealed. The principles of pedagogical reform proposed and carried by S. Smolensky in the Moscow Sinodal college of church singing were determined.
