The dissertation touches upon the problems of methods of abuse of power investigation. The author points out and studies structural elements of criminalistic characteristics of this type of crime (mechanism of crime, print combination of crime, personality of a criminal), gives the detailed description of these characteristics. The peculiarities of the initial stage of investigation of crime connected with abuse of power are researched. The work is done with a special focus on organization and planning of investigation and strategic divisions' work, typical investigation situations of the initial stage of investigation, investigation versions of this stage of investigation, peculiarities of immediate investigation actions.
