Essay

Object is whispering gallery modes of quasioptical dielectric resonators (QDR). The aim is to study the electrodynamic characteristics of the QDR localizing the microwave field near the conducting plane. Methods of research are the measurement of resonant frequencies and quality factors of the QDRs. For the first time the QDR localizing the microwave field near the conducting plane in the form of the hemisphere and the cone has been realized. For the first time, the possibility of measuring individual Rs values of HTS films in the course of one cycle of temperature measurements using sapphire QDR in the form of the hemisphere has been substantiated and experimentally demonstrated. Scope of use is Theoretical and Applied Radiophysics
