Essay

The comparative analysis of the formation process, consolidation and development of evangelical Christians in Poland (1918-1939) in the context of the state and church relations and the relations between Christian communities was made in the dissertation based on the wide range of documents from Ukrainian and Poland archives of that time, protestant papers and magazines, native and foreign historiography. Evangelical Christians gained the largest spread on the territories of the west Ukrainian and west Belarusian lands in Poland. The institualization of evangelical Christians included the process of separate groups appearance and join of the groups into the unions. The legalization of the community accompanied with the difficulties in the process of the community registration by the state authority and the acknowledged the statute. The in-church life of evangelical Christians, besides the church service activity was provided by the missionary work, youth, women, mu sical, choir, publishing and educational ways of activities. The relations between different Christians communities were characterized by the struggle with the orthodox, catholic and protestant communities for the sphere of influence and by the interaction aimed to coordinate the missionary activity.
