Essay

It is carried out a new relativistic approach to description of the energy characteristics for Rydberg atoms in an external DC electric field (DC Stark effect), mixed DC electric and magnetic fields, AC electromagnetic field of arbitrary strength. It is carried out calculation of energies and widths for Stark resonances in spectra of alkali Rydberg atoms Na, K, Rb, Cs (and H) for different Rydberg states n=16-26 and DC electric field strengths and detailed studying ionization dynamics for atoms of Li, Rb in the Rydberg states n=45-67 in a microwave field for different field parameters with discovery of scaling effect for energies and widths of Stark resonances, chaotic ionization and stabilization regimes etc. A significant part of the spectral data is obtained at first.
