Essay

Object - metabolism disturbances in the corneal endothelium during the influence of ultrasonic energy of the phacoemulsificator. Purpose - the postoperative keratopathy prophylaxis after the senile cataract phacoemulsification. Methods: ophthalmological (visometry, biomicroscopy, ophthalmoscopy, assessment of corneal edema degree on Stray Light Meter); biochemical (the definition of corneal endothelium enzyme activity). In vitro the enzyme activity decreasing in corneal endothelium and lysosomal membranes under ultrasound energy influence was established - cytochrome-C-oxidase by 33,3%, malatedehydrogenase by 14,8%; cytochrome-C-oxidase - 33,3%, malatedehydrogenase for 14,8%; acid phosphatase bound activity by 39,3%, Na+,К+-ATPhase by 45,6%. The increasing of action time of ultrasonic energy causes the decreasing of the membrane enzyme activity and the lysosomal membranes stability. The using of antioxidant preparation of lipoid acid decreases the damage affection of ultrasonic energy on the corneal endothelium associated with increased activities of Na+,К+- ATPhase on 25,6%, cytochrome-C-oxidase activity on 20,0% and acid phosphatase bound on 38,8%. The application of lipoid acid preparation "Berlition" decreases the inflammation degree in patients after senile cataract phacoemulsification by 28,7-35,8%. Results of study were improved in Filatov Institute of eye Diseases and Central military clinical hospital of Military ministry of Ukraine. The sphere of use: medicine, ophthalmology.
