Essay

In the dissertation questions of origin and development the idea of people's sovereignty are investigated. As well, the genesis of noted idea in Ukraine is analyzed. The complex analysis of place in the system of constitutional principles was conducted. Author's definitions of notions "people's sovereignty", "people", "institute of direct democracy", "referendum", "elections" were formulated. The essence, characteristics and indications of political rights and freedoms were determined.
