Ryzhkova T. Microbiological characteristic of tonsillar microflora, Corynebacterium diphtheriae and peculiarities of microbial interactions under aerobic and microaerophilic conditions

The object for research: C.diphtheriae strains, tonsillar mucus and lymphoid tissues of extirpated tonsils from patients with chronic tonsillitis, representatives of different tonsillar layers microbiocoenosis. The goal of research - to develop scientific approaches to improvement of chronic tonsillitis and Corynebacteria carriage diagnostic technique and treatment regimen, to detect available bacteria species with antagonistic activity against diphtheria aetiological agent, by means of investigation of opportunistic bacteria and C.diphtheriae biological properties, peculiarities of microbial interactions under different conditions. The methods of research: microbiological, biochemical, mathematical-statistical. The equipment: thermostat, microanaerostat, microscope, centrifuge, spectrophotometer, densitometer. The description of microbiocoenosis of tonsils mucous tunics and its deeper tissue layer in patients with chronic tonsillitis was given for the first time. The differences in compositions, levels of microbial occupation, number of species and biological properties of bacteria isolated from these biotopes were determined. The peculiarities of microaerophilic cultivation conditions influence on growth kinetics, adhesive properties, anticomplementary activity and antibiotic sensitivity of C.diphtheriae strains were investigated.Two patents and two guidelines were designed. Application field - medicine (microbiology, infectology, otorhinolaryngology).
