Object of research: social and economic conditions of the development of potato growing at agrarian enterprises and private farms of the population of Lviv region. Aim of research: grounding of theoretical and methodologycal fundamentals of the development and effectiveness of potato growing and development of the system of organizing and economic basis of its increase by means of production consolidation, transfer of the agrarian brunch onto innovative and industrial base. Methods: historical, abstract and logical, statistic and economical, monographic, balance, sociological, calculative and constructive, economic and mathematic. Theoretical and practical results: theoretical and methodological basis of the research is formed by general scientific principles of dialectics and system approach, fundamentals of modern economic theory, normative and legal acts on the points of agrarian brunch development, works of Ukrainian and foreign scientists. Scientific novelty: for the first time using improved methodology of forecasting on the base of trend models of average indicators of dynamics of crop areas and yield rate in each administrative region, the author grounds prospective parameters of the development of potato growing at agrarian enterprises and private farms of population, achievement of which is required for the brunch functioning on the innovative ground; social and economic essence and system of indicators of effectiveness of potato production at farms of population and agrarian enterprises, taking into account their functional purpose and distinguishing social, economical, technological, ecological and structural effectiveness is specified; system of indicators of potato growing development at farms of population and their influence on the level and structure of consumption of potato and products of its processing is improved, and prospects of the brunch in the sphere of food provision of population is also determined; scientific and organizing fundamentals of formation of integration system of potato growing functioning, which take into account regional peculiarities of its development in contrast to those developed before, are defined, as well as scientific and methodological fundamentals of organization of selective examination of the development of potato growing at farms of population, taking into account their demographic characteristics, location, attitude to work and level of market activity. Level of introduction: results of the research are accepted for practical application in the activity of Main department of agro industrial development of Lviv regional state administration, Busk district state administration; Mykholayiv district state administration; "Gorutske" Ltd in Mykholayiv district, Lviv region.
