Prymachenko Y. The north-American historiography of OUN and UPA activity.

The present thesis dedicated to the complex analysis of north-American historiography of OUN and UPA activity. Based on the wide circle of scientific literature, the political, ideological and intellectual context of north-American historiography of the second half of XX century was investigated. The process of formation of north-American historiography of the OUN-UPA problem as well as the factors that influenced on the topicality of the investigation of Ukrainian problems in the USA and Canada was examined. The complex analysis of key problems of north-American historiography of OUN and UPA activity was made. According to methodological approaches, investigation technique and world outlook of the authors, the three groups of north-American researchers were singled out. The second half of XX century was marked by the transition of Western historiography to the postmodernism historical paradigm, within its framework, the process of integration of local histories into universal one took place. It was distinguished by the mutual penetrating of national and regional research schools and methodological approaches.
