Essay

The thesis dedicated to study of virus properties witch infecting medicinal plants growing in Ukraine. Morphological, biological, chemical and physical properties of isolated viruses are studied. Negative effect of viruses on the Panax ginseng and Echinacea purpurea plants metabolism and content of biologically active substances is revealed. For the first time polyclonal rabbit antiserum to viruses isolated from Valeriana officinalis and Panax ginseng plants is received witch could be used for virus diagnostics.
