Essay

The dissertation is a comprehensive study of the transition type word forming combining forms. The research deals with the lingual status of combining forms, their structure and problems connected with this word building category. Taking into consideration the distributive properties of these units, their position in the word as well as their meaning the following groups of combining forms are distinguished: monopositional and bipositional elements. The investigation studies the basic forms of representing conceptual structures by means of combining forms and derivatives containing them in framework of cognitive categories.
