The thesis studies the grounds of the criminal liability for bribery on the basis of the new concep-tion concerning the legal nature of bribe, with account of the conventions in the sphere of corruption prevention, ratified by Ukraine and the existing tendency of the criminal legislation development as to the responsibility for bribery. The object of bribery and the violation mechanism are defined. The concept of bribe and its meaning are revealed here. The characteristics of the objective side of bribe are analyzed. The specificities of official person and bribe-giver are defined and interpreted. The essence of guilt of bribe-giver and bribe-taker, their motives and aims are discovered here.
