Essay

Thesis work is dedicated to investigation of Ukrainian isolates of Cucumber green mottle mosaic virus.We have investigated properties of CGMMV isolates which were obtained from Cucumis sativus plants grown in greenhouse conditions.Three Ukrainian isolates have been shown to be closely phylogenetically related to Moscow isolate MС-1 and two Greece isolates CR-3 and CR-5.For each isolate of CGMMV specific and highly sensitive polyclonal rabbit antisera has been generated.It has been demonstrated that the major source of CGMMV inocula in greenhouses of Ukraine is the virus-contaminated soil.
