Essay

The dissertation is dedicated to research of stages of the Gothic poetics' development in the English literature to the year 1847 inclusive - time of appearance of Emily Bronte's novel "Wuthering Heights". The novel is treated as the highest achievement of "new Gothic" and composition of world resonance. The essence of concept of "new Gothic" and theory of synthesis of various artistic trends, styles and forms are interpreted. Also the theoretical model of the Gothic novel is outlined.
