BOMBIN A. Application of antitumor autovaccine prepared by means of B. subtilis B-7025 lectin in the treatment of patients with brain malignant tumors

Dissertation was aimed to the actual problem of modern oncology - enhancement of the efficacy of combined treatment of patients with brain malignant tumors (BMT). The method including antitumor autovaccine (AV) prepared by means of B. subtilis B-7025 lectin was worked out for application in adjuvant therapy of patients with BMT. The obtained data concerning tolerability, both immediate and long-term results of AV application were presented. The efficacy of AV application depending on the main clinical prognostic factors was assessed. The comparative analysis of immunological and clinical effects of AV for the determination of parameters of immunological monitoring and evaluation of the efficacy of vaccinotherapy were performed. The significance of obtained results was assessed by appropriate statistical methods. The study has been implemented in the department of construction of cancer biotherapy means of R.E. Kavetsky Institute of Experimental Pathology, Oncology and Radiobiology of NAS of Ukraine as well as in the 2nd neurosurgical department of "I.I Mechnikov Regional Hospital" (Dnipropetrovsk).
