Essay

The thesis is devoted to determination of the main essence and peculiatities of ideas of evolution and revolution in Ukrainian political thought end XIX - beginning of XX century. On the ground of conducted analyses it was determined that peculiarities of interpretation of socio-political evolution process in Ukrainian political thought end XIX - beginning of XX century consist in understanding of evolution as multilevel nonlinear process; special attention to research on forces of socio-political evolution; study of efficiency of socio-political evolution in comparison with revolution with the aim of detecting of ideal way of social development; analyses of evolution as the way to embody social ideal. The thesis defines three basic approaches to interpretation of the notion "revolution" in Ukrainian political thought end XIX - beginning of XX century/ the first approach stipulates interpretation of revolution as a sub-kind of evolutionary process - phenomena, which cannot lead to qualitative changes in society. The second approach is based on nationalism and voluntarism, which was partially coursed by political developments of the beginning of the XX century. This approach considers revolution as the only way possible to change political mode, which can transfer society to the new stage of development. The third tradition was formed under the influence of socialism and national communism, its representatives analyze revolution as the way to build new, more absolute type of society.
