Bekhta T. Linguocognitive Modelling of the English Detective Discourse

The dissertation dwells on common and distinguishing characteristics of the variety of cognitive models (script, scenario, schema, plan, mental model and frame), principles of their application in the English detective text and discourse modelling processes. The research dwells on the construction of the invariant model (frame-scenario) that includes conceptual, narrative frame, frame of representation and interpretation and explains the correlation of these cognitive structures in the process of representation and perception of the English classical detective. The interaction of representation and interpretation frames of the detective reflects the synergetic nature of text and discourse – surface and deep structures.
