The object: linguistic means of the concept HAPPINESS instantiation in modern English fiction. The aim of the dissertation: to establish gender aspects of the concept HAPPINESS instantiation in modern English fiction. Methods: methods of Linguosemantics, Cognitive Linguistics and Discourse Analysis. Scientific novelty: the dissertation establishes gender aspects of the concept HAPPINESS instantiation in modern English fiction on the basis of a cognitive-discursive approach. It has been shown that the concept HAPPINESS is a unity of the classifying, identifying and structuralizing modi. The thesis reveals the structure of the conceptual category organized by the concept HAPPINESS. It also models the concept HAPPINESS as a frame and a prototype. Theoretical value: The results obtained are the contribution to Сognitive Linguistics, Gender Linguistics. Practical value: the results can be used in theoretical courses in Lexicology and Stylistics of the English Language, General Philology, Cognitive Linguistics, Gender Linguistics.
